What makes a great haircut?

lifestyle + proportion + face shape + texture + care
Most people cannot tell the difference between a good hair cut or a great haircut, but most everyone can tell the difference between a good haircut and a bad one.
- A great haircut compliments your personality, lifestyle, face and body proportions (see face shapes)
- A great haircut is manageable and maintains its shape between services.
- Hair grows at approximately 1⁄8” per week. Hair that is not trimmed regularly will begin to spilt at the ends and break. Split ends that are left unattended continue to split up the hair shaft and cause irreparable damage. While it may seem counterintuitive, cutting hair that is “growing out” not only prevents split ends but also allows your hair to grow faster and healthier. Cutting the hair every 4-6 weeks keeps it healthy and maintains its shape and placement.
A great haircut will never reach its potential without education and direction from the stylist. There is a lot to know about tools, products, styling techniques, maintenance, conditioning and how to compliment the cut with hair color and makeup.
