Cyndi DeSoto – owner.
Cyndi and son Gage
I love people. I love innovative concepts. I love creating new ways to do things. I love a great space. I love good wine and interesting conversation. I love the sun and the sand. I love my girlfriends. I love being a mother. I love to teach. I love owning Caruh.
I admire my team and how they can make someone’s day with just a touch and a smile. You can literally see the change in people – mostly in their eyes – from when they arrive for one of our services and leave 45 – 90 minutes later. It is a gift.
I am not a hairdresser and am a complete disaster with my own hair (ask anyone!). I am too hyper and assertive to be in a spa room. So basically, the only thing I can do at Caruh is to run the place and even at that my team does it better than I do.I wrote a book about beauty and have been out on book tours most of the year. The title is the same as my life’s Work – changing the way the world thinks about beauty. A lofty goal, but one to which I am deeply committed. Click here for more information.
I worked for Aveda corporate for 20+ years and am lucky to have salon owners in Seattle and throughout the country as my friends and mentors.
My husband is my biggest fan and I am crazy about him. In fact, we got married twice! Once for love and once just for fun. (PS. he does the photos on this site)
I swear too much. I constantly complain about things being messy. I am a clean freak. And as I turn 50 this year I find that there is more of me around the middle than there used to be.
My fundamental belief about business and life: we have a human responsibility to give our best everyday because each of us is a part of the whole of us.
I hope you enjoy Caruh as much as I do. Send me a note. I would love to hear from you. cyndidesoto@gmail.com
